Physical Therapy
Accessible Physical Therapy offers a comprehensive program using diverse treatment methods for various injuries, conditions, and illnesses. Our therapists prioritize not only treating your condition and restoring pain-free function but also preventing future injuries through patient education. We combine hands-on manual therapy with exercises tailored to your needs, including stretching, strengthening, endurance, balance, and aerobics. These exercises aim to increase flexibility, reduce joint stress, strengthen muscles, and mobilize joints. Our therapists are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals and return to everyday activities at home, work, and play while preventing future injuries.
Orthopedic Rehabilitation
The Accessible team collaborates with individuals experiencing a variety of orthopedic issues, such as soft tissue injuries or diseases, and post-surgical cases including fractures, total hip/knee replacements, and tendon or ligament repairs. We focus on helping patients restore strength, mobility, and endurance to resume their daily routines at home.
Hand Therapy - Certified Hand Therapists
Accessible's expert hand therapists specialize in treating hand and upper extremity conditions, from acute to chronic. Under the direction of the referring physician, our team designs each treatment based on the diagnosis and patient's individual needs. We treat conditions such as arthritis, fractures, tendon injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, crush injuries, and repetitive motion disorders. Our hand/occupational therapy services include wound and scar management, edema control, pain relief, range of motion exercises, work hardening, work simulation, strengthening, static and dynamic splint fabrication, and dexterity training, among others.
Aquatic Therapy
Accessible's Aquatic Therapy Program offers physical therapy in a warm water setting like a pool or HydroWorx unit. Aquatic therapy facilitates exercises such as stretching, strengthening, standing, walking, and squatting, minimizing weight-bearing impact. The water's buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure help reduce swelling, pressure, and pain in injured joints and muscles, often decreasing healing time for many injuries.
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)
Accessible's three to five hour evaluation assesses a person's ability to safely function in their usual work environment. It examines strength, flexibility, and capacity to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, kneeling, and squatting which helps the client and rehabilitation team understand the individual's current capabilities and create a treatment plan for a safe return to work.
Work Hardening Program
Accessible's Work Hardening program is a goal-oriented program that utilizes a multi-dimensional approach designed to help injured workers in their safe return to work. It involves assessing and improving physical tolerance, enhancing flexibility, mobility, and strength, and learning safer work techniques, among other components.
Low Back Program
Lower back pain can arise from various factors such as muscle strain, poor posture, overuse, and spinal injuries. While many cases of back pain are general, conditions like Osteoarthritis, Herniated Disc, Degenerative Disc, Spondylolisthesis, and Spinal Stenosis require specific diagnosis and treatment. Our physical therapists review your medical history, assess your current condition, and investigate the underlying causes of your pain to develop a targeted recovery plan. They also provide initial education on managing the issue, guide you on proper body mechanics during daily activities, teach self-stretching exercises, and offer advice on improving spinal nutrition and spine care. This comprehensive approach aims to accelerate your recovery and alleviate or eliminate pain in the long term.
